On November 10, 2024, mark your calendars for a vibrant celebration of Polish culture as we commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Polish Festival @ Fed Square. This annual event, organised by the dedicated efforts of volunteers from the Polish community in Victoria, has become a beloved tradition in Melbourne’s cultural calendar.

Since its inception in 2005, the Polish Festival @ Fed Square has been fuelled by the passion and commitment of volunteers, many of whom proudly trace their heritage to Poland. With a core committee of 12 members leading the charge and the support of over 30 individuals throughout the years, this festival embodies the spirit of community collaboration. Over 200 volunteers come together each year to ensure the festival’s success, contributing their time and talents to create an unforgettable experience for attendees.

More than just a cultural event, the Polish Festival @ Fed Square serves as a vital platform for the Polish Victorian community to share its rich traditions and heritage with the broader Melbourne population. Through engaging performances, tantalising cuisine, and interactive exhibits, attendees have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Polish culture, fostering cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.

As we celebrate two decades of the Polish Festival @ Fed Square, we reflect on the profound impact this event has had on our community and beyond. With an estimated attendance of over half a million individuals since its inception, the festival has left an indelible mark on Melbourne’s cultural landscape, enriching the lives of countless individuals through its diverse offerings.
