Klara Rawdanowicz

Hi! My name is Klara Rawdanowicz, I’m 21 years old and I play the piano, violin and sing. Besides music, I am also interested in painting, dancing, growing flowers and taking walks in national parks. At the moment I am studying psychology at the University of Melbourne, but in the future, I plan to become a primary school teacher.

I was interested in music from a very young age and started to play the piano at the age of four. I had the opportunity to go to a primary and secondary school that had a large music school on site, where I not only had private music lessons throughout my school life, but with which I also had the opportunity to participate and perform in many symphony and violin orchestras and with choirs. The whole school year was filled with soirees, concerts in places such as the Melbourne Recital Hall and Hamer Hall in Melbourne, as well as many shows, musicals, and Christmas carols concerts where I also performed as a soloist. But the greatest of all was being able to tour all over Europe with our orchestra and choir and perform in Austria, France and Italy. At the end of my school years, I completed VCE in the subject of “Music Performance” with classical singing. Outside of school, for three years I also participated in rehearsals and concerts of the Melbourne Youth Music program in chamber and symphony orchestras every Saturday.

After graduating from school, I won a two-year classical singing scholarship from the vocal teacher Kate Sadler in Southbank. I also had the opportunity to sing in the Southgate Sings choir for those two years, and with them we performed concerts every six months, always for a full audience hall. These two years were really special for me and I gathered a lot of knowledge and treasured memories from them. During these years I also participated in the Melbourne Baroque Project on my violin, which is a chamber orchestra for uni students from all around Victoria.

For the second year now I teach at a music school in Deer Park where I give private lessons of violin, piano and singing to children from the age of 7 up to and including adult learners. Those of my students who have passed their AMEB exams in music so far, got very good results.

However, the most special and meaningful out of all these achievements is that I can now make music with my family. I have three younger brothers and one younger sister, and between the five of us we can play on ten different instruments, and many of us even play the same instrument for example piano, violin, trumpet and accordion. As a family, we started performing together about 5 years ago in a string ensemble and in various duet forms, but now we use different instrument arrangements depending on the piece and what is needed for a concert. Every year we perform in many concerts at the 3rd of May Constitution Day concert, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day concerts, various Christmas carols concerts, we contribute to the music in our church in Essendon and we share our some joy with little concerts in the Aged care centers around Melbourne that house residents of Polish heritage e.g. in Ardeer, Bayswater and Werribee . I am glad that I can create music with those I love the most, and that we can bring a little more joy, goodness and Polishness to this world.

Cześć! Mam na imię Klara Rawdanowicz, mam 21 lat i gram na pianinie, skrzypcach i śpiewam. Poza muzyką, interesuję się także malowaniem, tańcem, hodowaniem kwiatów i spacerami w parkach narodowych. Na razie studiuję psychologię Uniwersytecie Melbourne ale planuję zostać nauczycielką szkoły podstawowej.

Interesowałam się muzyką od bardzo młodego wieku, zaczynając grę na pianinie mając cztery latka. Miałam możliwość chodzenia do szkoły podstawowej i średniej, gdzie na miejscu mieliśmy dużą szkołę muzyczną w której nie tylko miałam prywatne lekcje muzyki przez całe życie szkolne, ale z którą miałam także możliwość uczestniczyć i występować z wieloma orkiestrami symfonicznymi i skrzypcowymi oraz z chórami. Cały rok szkolny był wypełniony ‘soirees’, koncertami między innymi w Recital Hall i Hamer Hall w Melbourne, przedstawieniami, musicals, i koncertami kolęd gdzie także wiele występowałam solowo. Ale najwspanialsza z tych wszystkich była możliwość tury z naszą orkiestrą i chórem po całej Europie, i występowanie w Austrii, we Francji i Włoszech. Na końcu swoich latach szkolnych, zdałam maturę z przedmiotu „Music Performance” ze śpiewem klasycznym. Poza szkołą, przez trzy lata mojej młodości także uczestniczyłam co sobotę w próbach i koncertach programie „Melbourne Youth Music” w orkiestrach kameralnych i symfonicznych.

Po zakończeniu szkoły wygrałam stypendium nauki śpiewu klasycznego przez całe dwa lata od nauczycielki ‘Kate Sadler’ w Southbank. Także miałam możliwość śpiewania przez te dwa lata w chórze ‘Southgate Sings’ i z nimi co pół roku przedstawialiśmy koncerty, zawsze dla wypełnionej Sali widzów. Te dwa lata były naprawdę wyjątkowymi dla mnie i nazbierałam mnóstwo wiedzy i miłych wspomnień z nich. W tym czasie uczestniczyłam również ze skrzypcami w „Melbourne Baroque Project” co jest orkiestrą kameralną dla studentów uniwersytetów z całej Wiktorii także organizującą występy co pół roku.

Teraz już drugi rok uczę w szkole muzycznej w Deer Park, gdzie udzielam prywatnych lekcji muzyki skrzypiec, pianina i śpiewu dla dzieci od wieku 7 lat aż do nawet dorosłych. Moi studenci co do tej pory zdawali egzaminy z muzyki dostawali bardzo dobre wyniki.

Jednak moim największym szczęściem ze wszystkich tych osiągnięć jest to, że mogę teraz tworzyć muzykę z moją rodziną. Mam trzech młodszych braci i jedną młodszą siostrę i między nami wszystkimi gramy na dziesięciu różnych instrumentach, oraz wielu z nas nawet gra na tym samym tak jak na pianinie, skrzypcach, trąbce i akordeonie. Jako rodzina zaczęliśmy razem występować ok. 5 lat temu w smyczkowym zespole, oraz w różnych formach duetowych, ale teraz już wykorzystujemy różne układy instrumentów i to zależy od utworu i koncertu. Co roku występujemy w wielu koncertach na akademii 3-cio Majowej, koncertach Dniu Matki i Dniu Ojca, różnych koncertach kolęd, pomagamy muzyką naszemu kościołowi w Essendon i dzielimy się naszą muzyką w domu starców, gdzie mieszkają Polacy np. w Ardeer, Bayswater i w Werribee. Cieszę się, że mogę tworzyć muzykę z tymi których najbardziej kocham, i że przez to możemy choć trochę więcej, radości, dobroci i Polskości przynieść temu światu.
